About Brewtiful Beasts

Where a love of animals, art and a good brew come together.

Brewtiful Beasts is a family-run British business built around three things we love: animals, art and personality.

I’m Andy Hardwick, the artist behind Brewtiful Beasts. I’ve had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember and have been a dog lover since I was a small boy. Over the years, that love of animals found its way into my artwork, particularly wildlife art and pet portraits.

As a family, we also understand that a pet is never just a pet.

They are part of the family. They greet you when you come home, follow you from room to room, steal your favourite spot on the sofa and somehow always seem to know when you need them. Every animal has its own personality, little habits and expressions that make them completely unique.

That personality is what I love trying to capture in my art.

How Brewtiful Beasts Began

Like many good ideas, Brewtiful Beasts wasn't really planned.

My art has always been an escape for me — a place where I can switch off from everything else and lose myself for a few hours in creating something.

Then one day, somebody asked me if I could paint their dog on the side of a coffee cup.

It was a simple request, but it sparked an idea.

What if I combined my love of painting animals with something most of us reach for every day — a mug of coffee or tea — and gave each animal a personality of its own?

From that first idea came a collection of sleepy dogs, grumpy dogs, chaotic dogs, moody cats and other wonderfully expressive animals, each with their own relationship with that all-important morning brew.

And Brewtiful Beasts was born.

Animals With Personality — Created From Original Art

Every Brewtiful Beast starts with the animal — and every image originates from my own brushwork, created in my studio in Essex, England.

That's important to me.

Behind every finished Brewtiful Beasts design is an artist's hand. My background as a wildlife and pet portrait artist influences the way I approach each character, from the expression in the eyes and texture of the fur to the tiny details that give an animal its personality.

The original artwork is then carefully developed into the finished Brewtiful Beasts design, ready to bring that character to life on our products.

I want the eyes, expression and character to come first. Whether it's the exhausted look of a Golden Retriever that isn't quite ready for the day, the unimpressed stare of a French Bulldog waiting for its coffee, or the glorious chaos of an excitable Cocker Spaniel, the aim is always the same:

to create something that makes you recognise a little bit of your own pet — or yourself — in the character.

Rather than creating generic cartoon animals, I want our beasts to retain the character, texture and realism of the real animal, while adding just enough humour and exaggeration to bring their personalities to life.

From Our Family to Yours

Being a family-run business matters to us.

We know first-hand how much animals become part of the story of a family. They are there for ordinary mornings, family celebrations, difficult days, muddy walks, holidays, Sunday afternoons and countless cups of tea and coffee in between.

That's why Brewtiful Beasts isn't simply about putting funny animals on products.

It's about combining original British artwork with our love of animals, celebrating their personalities and the special place they occupy in our homes and our lives.

Some are sleepy.
Some are grumpy.
Some are completely chaotic.
And some seem to believe the entire house belongs to them.
We wouldn't have them any other way.

Welcome to Brewtiful Beasts.
